Round Table Add to Slack

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Round Table ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Slack application.

2. Information We Collect

Slack workspace data (via OAuth):

  • Workspace ID and name
  • Installing user's Slack user ID
  • Bot token (to post messages in your workspace)

Usage data:

  • Commands invoked (e.g., /roundtable)
  • Message content submitted as debate topics (processed transiently)
  • Debate configuration preferences

We do NOT collect:

  • Private messages or DMs
  • Files, images, or attachments
  • Any Slack data beyond what is required to run a debate

3. How We Use Your Information

To deliver the service: Your debate topic is sent to AI model providers to generate responses, then returned to your Slack channel.

To manage your account: Workspace ID and plan information are stored to enforce usage limits and billing.

To improve reliability: Aggregated, anonymized usage metrics may be used to monitor service health.

4. Data We Do NOT Use

We never train AI models on your data. Your prompts and debate content are not used for model training, fine-tuning, or improvement — by us or by our AI providers (all API-tier usage).

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

Debate content: Processed in real-time and discarded after the session ends. We do not persist debate messages.

Account data (workspace ID, plan info): Retained while your workspace has the App installed. Deleted within 30 days of uninstallation upon request.

Aggregated analytics: Retained indefinitely in anonymized form.

6. Third-Party Processors

We route prompts to the following AI providers via their API tiers (which do not use inputs for training):

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encrypted data in transit (TLS 1.2+)
  • No persistent storage of debate content
  • Access controls and audit logging
  • Regular security reviews

8. Your Rights (GDPR & Global)

If you are in the EU/EEA or a jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise these rights, email privacy@roundtableapp.net. We respond within 30 days.

9. Slack Marketplace Compliance

  • We only request Slack OAuth scopes necessary to operate the App.
  • We comply with Slack's API Terms of Service.
  • Uninstalling the App revokes our access to your workspace immediately.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. International Transfers

Data may be processed in servers located outside your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any cross-border transfers.
